TGV blind date

(2016)

The exhibition theme 'Surveillance Camera' reminiscent of '007 Blind Date' when we had no cell phone or SNS in Korea. The concept of the blind date is if a man gives a particular gesture at a certain outdoor place, then a woman recognizes him. The gestures could be such as continuous jumps or endless twirls which also could be ordered by the woman beforehand. If she does not like him, he could be stood up. It gave women the power of choosing men during the male dominated era in Korea, which seemed to be invented by younger generation of the time. I wanted to apply this blind date concept to this performance, and also wanted to connect it to the importing process of TGV in Korea. The audience must actively participate in the performance.
