Jean-Claude Ruggirello

Born in 1959, lives and works in Paris.

After studying at the National School of Fine Arts in Marseilles and a transition to Horschule für Bildende Kunst in Hamburg in 1980, JC Ruggirello built his artistic universe around video, sound installations and sculpture. Since the beginning of his career Ruggirello JC exhibits extensively in France and abroad (Swiss Institute, New York; Centre of Contemporary Art, Neuchatel, Switzerland; Museum of Fine Arts, Dijon Frac Aquitaine, Bordeaux, Centre contemporary art, Thiers, among others ...).
In 2000 the FRAC Marseille and the Contemporary Art Centre in Neufchatel invited him for a solo exhibition. After a selection of the video "Fade" to Rome Film Festival, Cinema XXI Rome, Italy in 2013, it results in a screening at the Ricard Foundation in 2015.

His work has included major public and private collections, such as the FRAC Bourgogne, the FRAC Aquitaine, the Communal Fund of Marseille, the communal art fund of Rennes, the communal art fund of Kruishoutem (Belgium), the FRAC PACA and the Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes.

He teaches at the School of Fine Arts in Marseilles since 1995.
